The West in gouache
Treasures of the West

ABOUT ME::
I have been painting for many years. While living in Colorado and New Mexico in the early 1970’s I began studying drawing and painting. The subtle colors and light in New Mexico coaxed me into exploring the watercolor medium. Later I began to expand into oil painting. By now I have also enjoyed success with gouache and a variety of acrylic paints.
I find inspiration in a variety of subjects in my home state of Colorado. I love painting in the West, which from a very young age made strong visual impressions on me. More recently I have created numerous lively and colorful abstract works, using acrylic and collage materials on paper and canvas. My husband and I often spend time at our family cabin near Gunnison, Co. I often paint in that area when we explore the mountains. In addition to many awards in juried art shows, my work has been chosen for a number of outstanding exhibitions, such as Aquarius National Watermedia (Pueblo, Co.); International Watermedia XVII and XVIII in Colorado Springs; “Own Your Own Art” Show (Pueblo, Co.); CWS “Splash” Show (Gunnison, Co.); BAA-Chautauqua Juried Art Show, (Boulder, Co.); “Artists of the West” Show, Pioneer’s Museum in Colorado Springs; Denver Symphony Guild’s Designer Show Home at Phipps Mansion in Denver; and Colorado State Fair Fine Arts Exhibit in Pueblo, Co. I am a Signature Member of Pikes Peak Watercolor Society.
